EA have announced Battlefield 5 will be getting a Battle Royal mode after launch, releasing a new gameplay trailer showing off multiplayer. During EA’s press conference at E3 in Los Angeles, DICE confirmed the highly anticipated sequel will be getting their own spin on PUBG and Fortnite’s breakout mode – which was previously hinted (and totally expected) would be arriving for the title.
They however did describe the ‘Royale’ mode would be ‘reimagined’ for the title – bringing an experience which would be different to their competitors.
A new trailer for the title also showed off more gameplay, with earlier footage showing off the impressive destruction effects and how stationary weapon turrets can be moved around the map. It was also reiterated how Battlefield 5 won’t feature any loot boxes and won’t have a premium pass, presumably following the backlash to Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
More details on the single-player modes are expected to arrive during Microsoft’s conference on June 10, which will take a deep-dive on Nordly’s War Story.
