EA’s first Star Wars game will be out a month earlier than the new film, as the first footage and the first screenshot are revealed.
Star Wars: Battlefront will be released on November 17, as fans discovered the date hidden with the code for the game’s official website – which also confirms it’s being released only on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens has a release date of December 18, although the new teaser trailer released yesterday only specified ‘December’ so that might have changed slightly since the first teaser.
The earlier than expected date, which is right around when the new Call Of Duty is usually released, helps explain why the game only seems to focus on the original trilogy and not the new film.
In case you’re one of the few people on the Internet that hasn’t seen the new movie trailer yet it ends with a few seconds of gameplay footage, also set on Endor.
It looks for all the world like CGI, but according to DICE level designer Dennis Brännvall it’s real gameplay footage.
The new screenshot above also leaked out last night, via website AllGamesBeta, and shows a Speeder Bike on the forest moon of Endor.
A proper reveal of the game is due to take place at 6.30pm tonight, and we’ll be waiting around to update the site when that happens.
