VIDEO GAMES: A technologically “light” version of the console as well as a declination intended unlike the most demanding gamers could be unveiled next June.
Nintendo is preparing to launch two new versions of its Switch . The new consoles could be unveiled next June before a commercialisation in late 2019, according to the DowJones agency quoted by Les Echos .
According to rumours circulating for months, there is on the one hand a simplified and cheaper version of the current console, and on the other hand a machine on the contrary more advanced. The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles ( USA ) could serve as the venue for this revelation.
Same strategy as for 3DS
Nintendo would aim to attract a wider audience by attracting new profiles. The “light” version is aimed at the youngest and those who can not spend the 300 euros that currently costs the device. The other would be for the demanding in terms of graphics and fluidity.
A strategy already adopted by the firm for the 3DS console , to which Nintendo had added the 2DS (less expensive) and the powerful “New 3DS”. And who says new buyers says sales increase and therefore turnover. At the end of its life cycle,Nintendo hopes that it has sold 80 million switches worldwide. The Japanese giant is also aiming for a 27% increase in its annual operating profit.
