Dragon Age Inquisition is a very well developed and immersive game with several innovative and thought out game play elements. Your characters dialog options are fully voiced and the characters and storyline are 5 star.

Where the game breaks down is on the PS3 and XBOX 360 versions. Be Warned!

    The graphics are bad.

Reread the previous line and please understand I don’t say this lightly. At best it is on par with a game written for the Nintendo Wii. They are bad to the point of actual distraction. Characters appear to have almost “lego like” hair and clipping issues with the models are numerous. In some scenes the brightness is so blown out that you can’t make out whats going on. Even on the largest of television screens the text is somehow extremely difficult to read. Whats worse, if you happen to see the PS4 version you will cry as the difference is so pronounced it almost seems to be different game.

    Freezing & Crashing
There are currently a few issues on the XBOX 360 and the PS3 with the game freezing up or not playing, however many of them are being addressed. On the whole this issue alone would not be enough to stop me from buying the game.

In closing, after playing through the first couple chapters I just can’t continue. No one even likes watching the game because the rendering is so painfully bad. I’m going to take a bit of a loss and sell the game back to GameStop. When I get a PS4 I would will probably buy it again.

For now however I am very loyal, but very disappointed fan.

I pre-ordered the deluxe edition of Dragon Age Inquisition back in September, and was eager to play it after watching all the trailers and gameplay videos prior to launch. A week before the game was released, I read all these reviews saying the PS3 version was filled with glitches and lag and terrible graphics. I was nervous but thought it was likely just internet trolls out to hurt Bioware’s reputation. Turns out the reviews were very much accurate, as the game honestly looks terrible and is filled with all sorts of technical issues. Coming from GTA 5, another huge open world game for PS3, I was shocked at just how bad the graphics in Dragon Age are given GTA is able to look amazing and run so smoothly. It is clear Bioware designed this game with next gen consoles in mind, then put extremely minimal effort into the last gen ports. What really pisses me off is that none of this was revealed beforehand. The trailers all feature gameplay from the next gen versions and the creators haven’t even addressed just how bad the problems are. It’s like EA wanted to squeeze out more sales by keeping customers ignorant to all of this versions flaws, then act as if nothing is wrong once people start complaining. Extremely greedy and shameful. The most frustrating part is that the story and gameplay actually seem quite good, it’s just that the graphical glitches and poor textures are honestly too hard to overlook. I wouldn’t mind as much if the game simply looked bad, but my version had this game-breaking glitch where textures beam off the characters faces and arms, making gameplay ridiculous. Have never in my 15 years of gaming been sold a product so broken and with its flaws so blatantly hidden during marketing. Shame on Bioware and EA.

Freezing And Horrible Graphics!, November 19, 2014

Well, 2 hours into Dragon Age Inquisition for PS3 and a few complants. 1st, the one reviewer is right about the graphics. They really seem like PS2 quailty and thats inexcusable for the price they are charging. Come on guys, if Skyrim can look damn good on PS3, no reason this shouldnt. Also, really big problem, 2 hours in and the game has frozen twice, completely disabling the PS3. Not cool! Iv played a ton of games over the years on my PS3 and this is the 1st time this has happened. If it continues, I’ll have to bag it and return it. I will say that the over all gameplay is cool. Character creation was a bit disappoint in the hair and hair color sections. Never enough options and for some reason, the male hair styles seems to favor pumpkin pie little freak styles.
I’ll update later after putting in some more hours..

    UPDATE:
Ok so now about 8 hours into gameplay. Good
news is no more freezing. Fingers crossed those
were just isolated incidents. However, there are
so many graphic bugs, and particularly with
your character you create. Colors are off, extreme
blockiness, parts of body dissapear when at some
walls and picking up loot. It’s like looking at graphics
from a mid 90’s game. I hope to god they come out with
some kind of patch for the PS3 version to
correct these version, but I fear not.
